Overview and Program Goal:
The bleeding control basic ( BCON ) course is designed for individuals who have little to no medical training but who may call upon as immediate responders to provide initial trauma care and bleeding control to a victim of traumatic injury prior to the arrival of emergency medical services ( EMS ) or in an austere environment.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of the course, the participants will be able to:

✓The ABCs of Bleeding

✓Ensure Your Own Safety

✓find the bleeding injury

✓ Compress –apply pressure to stop the bleeding by:

             – using a tourniquet.

             – covering the wound with a clean cloth and applying pressure by pushing directly on it with both hands

            – packing (stuff) the wound with gauze or clean cloth and then applying pressure with both hands.

This course does not have any sections.
