Course Description
Diabetes is a major health problem, the complications of which cause poor quality of life outcomes and may result in death. The management of diabetes requires both lifestyle and behavioral changes. A multidisciplinary approach towards the management of this condition can promote health and patient well-being.
This course has been designed according to the latest guidelines of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and International Diabetes Federation (IDF) to augment scientific knowledge and expertise of healthcare practitioners in diabetes. It is self-paced certificate program that covers diabetes classifications, pathophysiology, screening and diagnosis, complications, and pharmacotherapy and lifestyle modification approaches.
Eligibility
The course is available for healthcare professionals (doctors, diabetes/health educators, nurses, pharmacists, nutritionists, podiatrists, etc.,) and health sciences students.
Delivery Method The course is delivered through 8 modules. Each module provides audio recordings of lectures, printable materials, and assessments that are designed to maximise the learning process. These methods offer flexible completion of audio lectures and assessment components by participants. Upon completion of each module, participants must undertake an online assessment (with MCQs and true or false format). Immediate feedback shall be given after each assessment with the rationale of the correct answer when applicable. |
Assessment Completion of end-of-module test is a must to access the next module (number of attempts is unlimited). After completing eight modules, passing a final online assessment with a score of minimum 50% or more is a condition for eligibility to obtain the certificate. |
